Infest - Slave LP

hands down the best 3rd wave ska band to lay it down in valencia, california

When I saw them in Baltimore for A389 fest a few years ago, I was in the front and Joe pointed the mic right at me and let me scream "Where is it?" at the end of "Where's the Unity?" and it was one of the greatest moments of my life. The video is on here.

I think it was 1995 or 1996. 18 years old. I was hangin' out at the best punk hardcore record store in Milano (New Zabriskie Point, now defunct) on a Saturday afternoon when a skinhead I had seen a couple of times before arrived with a bag full of records. "I'm selling this stuff, 10000 lire each (today's 10 euros). You know, I don't listen to this stuff anymore, I'm into Oi! now".
I was still in high school, got flunkd a couple of times, I had no real job so I had not much money in my pocket but could afford three records. Youth of Today "can't close my eyes", Heresy "face up to it" and this Infest one. I had read about them in 'zines and punk mags for years but could not put my hands on them.
This is the record that got me into serious hardcore punk thrash. Best punk record ever. Still makes me feel like I want to destroy the whole place I'm in every time I play it.
I had the luck to see them in 2016 in Leeds with Ripcord (another great fuckin' band from the 80's) and other more contemporary cool bands as part of their european reunion shows. Stille wear their tees at work, still sing them songs while driving my car. Thanx Infest, this shit is what keeps me alive and kicking.

Perfect album from to back. I have probably listened to this 1000 times and it still never gets old.

In 88 this band was the best it has ever been. With Chris Clift as the drummer. Me and my best friend would roadie in Chris's drums just so we could get into the shows underage.

Hadn’t listened to this album for about 20 years. Still tears my face off! So happy to have seen them in Boston a couple years back. Total dream come true.
