Great video but i believe you missed one 70s War film that Justifies to be on the list and that is ' Murphy's War ' , Starring Peter O'toole and his wife at the time , Sian Phillips. The Characters were great and the Plot was original for a War Film . Personal Revenge , brilliantly executed.
Kelly's Heroes: Best war movie of all time.😅😅😅😅 I also have to give it kudos for the only war movie in my 60s 70s youth that made a genuine effort in making German tanks actually look l8ke german tanks.
There are a couple of films that didn't make your list but perhaps should have. Lacombe Lucien (1974) about a young collaborationist and The Tin Drum (1979).
Have never viewed the movie, Patton. At the time of its theater release, one early-early Saturday morning, in the car on route to play racket ball with dad and with his brother (a beloved uncle) who mildly railed, yet vociferously so, his displeasure about the movie Patton that he had seen the previous night. In silence one sat in the backseat in the morning darkness and listened.
One film that should have been included is Play Dirty, a very very underrated film again with Michael Caine. l can really recommend it and it deserves better!!!
To have the movie "Force 10 From Navarone" mentioned in the same sentence as the novel is a travesty! The Only thing about the movie that comes close to the excellent novel are 5 names of the characters, the mission to take out the dam & dealing with the traitor! As for "Midway", look for a young Tom Selleck & Eric Estrada! Jacob The Liar was later remade with Robin Williams in the starring role!
I really enjoyed Force 10, Kellys Heros and A Bridge to Far. Great flicks. Thanks for posting.

Guns of Navarone does not star Richard Harris..but Anthony Quinn.
AND Anthony Quayle. That was a still of Quayle shown when Harris was mentioned.
I was 6 or 7 when I saw Midway, only knowing that we won. So, I was on the edge of my seat when they were looking for IJN carriers
CATCH 22 came out a few months after the movie version of M*A*S*H, which stole its thunder.
Catch 22 was the better movie.

Good list!! Have seen most of these movies numerous times. Seems like 1970 was the year for war movies!!!!!!!
The year I was born. Coincidence? 😁
I love catch 22 great flim😊
8:35 Glenn Ford!!! Glenn Ford Movies Playlist ruclips.net/video/NYnze5n8m_I/видео.html
One mistake when describing Catch-22. Yossarian was a bombardier, he wasn't a pilot.
1970 was great year in flim

Richard Harris had 1 scene in The Guns of Nav.
there was a robin william movie about too , i could be wrong i am old
That was somewhere in the 80s though.
JAKOB THE LIAR, 1999.
I love the 1970s i born in 1967 1970s best year in moives. 1980s was good 1990s was ok 2000 was allright 2010s was hit and miss 2020s and not good.
What About Murphy's War with Peter O'Toole ?
I saw Midway in the theater. The experience was ruined by the sensurround. I watched on t.v. years later and it was much better.
Of these I’d put Tora Tora Tora at the top followed by a Bridge too Far then perhaps Midway.
My thoughts exactly
Sorry but "Patton" is (largely) rubbish. "Cross Of Iron" and "A Bridge Too Far" ARE superb, however. Pretty much the best WW2 films ever made, really.
This narrator bores me to tears. 👎
It’s AI
I actually preferred the 2019 Midway, even though the CGI was a bit much.
F10 sucked.
