Expressions! Heavily inspired by some settei sheets I've seen some anime do, I really wanted to show his muzzle at different angles while giving an idea of his personality and how much he can emote. Which felt a bit weird, as I've only really drawn him facing left or right-- this helped even ME work on how far his eyes are apart and keeping consistency with them!
